"LOS TORUÑOS" NATURAL PARK
The Toruños Peninsula and Algaida Pine Forest are
part of a metropolitan park of enormous ecological importance and form
a part of the larger Bay of Cadiz Nature Park.
The area is made up of a highly
developed network of water channels fed by the San Pedro River (channelling
into the nearby sea). It is home to a homogeneous, perennial
vegetation and a wealth of animal species ranging from a wide variety
of invertabrates to abundant shorebirds or waders and fish, numbering
up to 40 different species.
