"LOS TORUÑOS" NATURAL PARK

 

The Toruños Peninsula and Algaida Pine Forest are part of a metropolitan park of enormous ecological importance and form a part of the larger Bay of Cadiz Nature Park.

The area is made up of a highly developed network of water channels fed by the San Pedro River (channelling into the nearby sea). It is home to a homogeneous, perennial vegetation and a wealth of animal species ranging from a wide variety of invertabrates to abundant shorebirds or waders and fish, numbering up to 40 different species.
