On the 9th of April our (Latvian) team went to the Valka town forest to take all the required measurements.  The first task for us was to take measurements of the humidity and temperature.  And it was 42% and the temperature was 10-11°C. After that we counted the amount of all kinds of plant species in 1m2. The next task was to count the plants touching the 10 m long rope 10 cm from the ground.  The results were on average: 15,9% of lesser dandelion, 19% of wild strawberry, 70% common couch and 8,5% of white dead-nettle.

Our last task was to count all kinds of tree species in circle which radius was 25 meters. There was only one kind of tree found and it was the most common tree in Latvia- Scots Pine.  We could conclude that Latvian biodiversity in spring isn't very varied.
