"LATVIA"

In 16th of january Valka gymnasium grade 11 went to the open air stage forest to do the experiment. The place is located 3 km from the school, in the North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve. January in Latvia is winter time, its cold and snowy, but this year January was  relatively warm and in the woods there was not much snow. The aim of the day was to explore the forest as a special ecosystem in winter, while taking measurements. We had 4 tasks:

1. Go to the open air stage

2. Count the amount of plant species in the forest

3. Take measurements

4. Statistical data analysis

The location coordinates are 57º 47' 6" N, 26º 0' 15,1", air temperature in the forest was 2 ⁰C and the humidity was 89%.
